Plan Reviewer

Responsible for reviewing and evaluating construction plans, drawings, and documents for compliance with applicable building codes, regulations, zoning laws, and municipal ordinances. 

  • Works under the general guidance and direction of the Licensing and Inspections Supervisor.
  • Examine and review architectural and building plans and specifications for residential and commercial/industrial structures to verify compliance with all applicable construction codes and regulations.
  • Prepare and write comment letters/emails to communicate deficiencies, errors and violations referencing applicable code sections.
  • Assist the public, professionals, and coworkers with questions, inquiries and interpretations of related building codes and Town ordinances.  
  • Performs technical construction inspection in the field when requested to verify compliance with related building codes and Town ordinances.
  • Uses excellent customer service skills, establishes and maintains effective working relationships with other employees, officials and all members of the general public.
