The Town of Middletown Town Council Election was held on Monday, March 2, from 12 noon to 8 p.m. and the unofficial results are as follows:

Farah P. Ramsammy -- 227
James L. Reynolds -- 464
Robert E. Stout -- 546
Total voters: 761 (29 absentee)
The top three vote-getters are the winners of this election.
The results will be reviewed and officiated by the Middletown Elections Board and will be approved at the Mayor and Council of Middletown meeting on March 9, 2020.
Town of Middletown Elections are held the first Monday in March. (Monday, March 2, 2020). Voting is held at Town of Middletown Town Hall from 12 noon to 8 p.m. Unofficial results are announced following the election.
Three Town Council member seats are up for election on the even years, and the Mayor and three Town Council member seats are up for election on the odd years. Candidates for election must be 21, have lived in the incorporated limits of Middletown for one year (two years for Mayor) and not have been convicted of a felony. The filing deadline for the March election was on Feb. 7, 2020.
At each general Town of Middletown municipal election, every citizen of the incorporated limits of Middletown, who shall have attained the age of eighteen (18) years, and who resides in said Town, shall have the right to vote. The Inspector and Judges of the election shall decide the validity and legality of the votes offered.
Residents must offer proof of residency with a form of identification such as: a driver’s license or State of Delaware identification card; a uniformed service ID card; another current photo identification ID card issued by the State of Delaware; the U.S. government; the voter’s employer; high school or higher education; a current utility bill; bank statement; credit card statement; a paycheck or pay advice; or another type of bill or statement.
Absentee ballots are always available for town elections. To receive an absentee ballot, residents must file an absentee ballot request form with the Town. The ballot is mailed / or handed to the applicant if they appear to Town Hall in person. Absentee ballots must be turned back into the Town or mailed in time to be received by the Town by 8 p.m. on March 2, 2020.
